Chaplain Chat

Hello! I'm Suzi Jansz and started as an on-campus chaplain at the beginning of this year. I have been a teacher in the past but am excited to be in a role where I have the time to spend with students who need to chat with someone. I must say that I am in awe of the staff at ACC and the amount of energy they invest in the emotional well-being of their students - I have not seen anything quite like it in any other school in which I've taught. As a result, I am often not needed, but I am available. Students can ask to see me if they would like to by telling their teacher (for primary), leaving a message at reception (secondary) or emailing me at susanjansz@acc.edu.au.

I am involved in a number of activities during the week that are provided for students so that they can connect with other students and build deeper relationships. In a world that is saturated with social media, these opportunities are becoming more important than ever.

Activities include:

• Girls' Brigade after school on Wednesdays for all girls, year 1-12.

• Creative Club for secondary students during lunch on Tuesdays - we are currently learning to crochet.

• Rummykub for secondary students during lunch on Thursdays.

• Colouring Club for primary students during lunch on Mondays.

• "Ready Set Grow" will be starting during lunch on Wednesdays for primary students who desire to have a relationship with God. It will be a time to encourage one another to grow in our faith.

I thank God for the community at ACC. Please join me in praying for God to bless and strengthen the staff as they give so much of themselves to teach and support the students.

I pray that every student at ACC will feel loved, valued and supported and will come to know their worth as a child of God, for He has made each one uniquely, with gifts that only they can offer to enhance the lives of the people around them.
