As we approach the end of Term 2, it’s clear this has been a busy and productive time filled with valuable teaching and learning. Our teachers have worked diligently on assessments and report writing, and I want to take a moment to thank them for their dedication and effort. Student reports will have been emailed out this week.
This week’s CHRIST value is Humility. In our discussions, we’ve explored the concept of servant leadership—how true leadership often comes through serving and supporting others. By helping those around us, we not only make a positive impact, but we also grow as leaders ourselves.
Philippians 2:3-4: "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Mid Year Momentum - Celebration of Teaching
As Semester 1 draws to a close, our learning programs are well underway. The beginning of the school year focuses on behaviour pedagogy and establishing a positive learning environment. With assessments completed, the focus shifts fully to teaching—and as with anything worthwhile, results come from repetition, consistency, and dedication.
For the past 20 weeks, our teachers at ACC have delivered research-based instruction aligned with the Western Australian curriculum. Their commitment and expertise are instrumental in the strong learning outcomes we see across our school community.
To recognise and celebrate this achievement, we will hold a special Celebration of Teaching Assembly on Friday of Week 10 in the Multipurpose Room.
We will come together to honour the incredible work of our teaching staff and the meaningful learning they have led so far this year.

Interschool Cross Country
ACC shone at the Primary Interschool Cross Country!
On June 20th, ACC proudly took a team of 39 runners to compete in the Primary Interschool Cross Country – and what an incredible event it was! Once again, we punched above our weight, competing fiercely against much larger schools.
In previous years, ACC has competed against just four other schools. This year marked a significant change, with both government and non-government schools from across the Great Southern region coming together at Centennial Park. In total, 13 schools participated, making it our most competitive meet yet.
Our students were outstanding – not just in performance, but in spirit. They showed unwavering support for their teammates and offered enthusiastic encouragement to other runners throughout the day. We approached the event with a true team mindset, knowing that every runner who crossed the finish line played a part in our overall success.
Special congratulations to Ruben Smit, who finished 1st in the Year 4 Boys race, and Daniel Bresanello, who claimed a strong 3rd place in the same division. These are exceptional achievements in such a large and competitive field.
Well done to the entire team for representing ACC with pride, determination, and great sportsmanship!

Year 6 Leaders
At ACC, we are excited to formally introduce leadership roles for our Primary School students for the very first time. With the continued growth in our student numbers, we believe this is the perfect time to begin developing young leaders within our school community.
We will be electing six Year 6 Student Leaders, and this opportunity is open to all Year 6 students on campus.
Our Year 6 Leaders will be positive role models who guide and support our school community. They will be trusted members of the student body, chosen for their demonstration of strong leadership qualities, including:
Courage, Humility, Respect, Initiative, Self-control, and Trust – the values we call C.H.R.I.S.T.
As leaders, they will:
Support younger students in their learning and play
Assist teachers with school activities and responsibilities
Represent our school at events
Demonstrate and promote our school values every day
Show kindness to all and lead by example
Being a Year 6 Leader is a special opportunity to build confidence, communication, and leadership skills—skills that will stay with them well beyond primary school.
Our six selected leaders will be presented with their badges at our End of Term Assembly on Friday, July 4th.
We look forward to seeing our students step up and shine as the first ever Primary School Leaders at ACC!
The Upper Primary teachers and I were so impressed with the 20 children who wrote speeches and presented them to a voting audience. Just by stepping forward they are proving they have what it takes to be a leader.

We would like to inform you about an upcoming change in the Kindergarten classroom. Mrs Marli Smit, our valued Kindergarten teacher, has decided to reduce her workdays to focus more on her family. While Mrs Smit will remain a cherished member of our ACC staff, she will be stepping down from her Kindergarten role.
We sincerely honour Mrs Smit for her dedication over the past three years as an Early Childhood teacher and for the guidance, warmth, and joy she has brought to our littlest learners.
Next term, we are pleased to welcome a familiar face to the Kindergarten classroom. Miss Kiara Torr, an experienced Early Childhood teacher, has supported our Kindergarten students as a relief teacher and is excited to take on this new role. We understand that change can bring uncertainty for both students and parents. We are confident that the strong foundation laid in Semester 1 will continue to support your child’s learning and development throughout Semester 2. The class will be well supported by myself and Angela Van Der Snoek, our Curriculum Coordinator, to ensure continuity and growth.
