Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the calendar year draws to a close, we want to thank you for your partnership this year. Your dedication, patience, and commitment to learning from home have been the foundation of your child’s success in our Distance Education program.
Next year Distance Education will have a part-time presence at Perth Bible College. Please look out for notifications advising of activities and opportunities to meet with other families and staff throughout the year.
The Reason for the Season
This time of year is often marked by reflection, family, and celebration. Regardless of your specific holiday traditions, we encourage you to take time to reflect on the reason for the season - remembering and celebrating God’s plan to send a Saviour. May this Christmas time bring your family moments of peace, connection, and spiritual renewal.
Learning Continues: Holiday Practice
While we all look forward to a break, consistency is key to retaining knowledge over the long holiday period. While courses will close for editing, your child's online learning resources will remain accessible throughout the holiday period. We highly encourage setting aside a small amount of time each week to engage with these powerful tools:
Reading Practice: Dive into the extensive library on Raz-Kids Reading. Just 15 minutes a day helps boost fluency and vocabulary.
Maths Reinforcement: Keep those skills sharp with Mathspace. Students can tackle practice problems, prepare for next year or review concepts learned this term.
Alternatively, consider a practical learning activity:
English/Literacy: Encourage your child to compose and mail an old-fashioned thank-you letter or postcard to a relative or friend. This builds writing skills and is a lovely gesture.
Mathematics: Involve your child in holiday cooking (measuring ingredients, calculating double/half recipes) or purchasing a small gift with cash and calculating the change.
We wish you all a meaningful end to the year and look forward to welcoming you back in the new year, refreshed and ready for new challenges.
We pray for a safe, peaceful Christmas and a holiday season filled with joy and rest for you and your whole family.
