Here we are at the end of Term 1. I trust it has been a productive and happy term for your family. It has been wonderful getting to know some of our new families, and we are looking forward to continuing to build on the relationship we have developed so far. Whiteman Park is always a highlight in Term 1, and this year was no exception. We hope to have some photos to share with you in our next newsletter.
Some of our keen mathematicians participated in the Australian Maths Competition on Thursday the 26th of March at Perth Bible College. We hope their hard work will help them achieve the results they are aiming for. Regardless of the outcome, we are incredibly proud of them for stepping up, doing their best, and learning some valuable test-taking skills along the way.

Next term will bring a few changes that we will let you know more about soon. One lovely thing we can share now is the addition of Mrs Leah McFarlane to our Learning Support and Wellbeing Team. Mrs McFarlane will be contacting some of our families on a regular basis to encourage and offer support. Please look out for her calls when she is up and running next term.
Autumn and Easter Reflections
As the weather cools and we look toward the upcoming holidays, our Year 5 students have been reflecting on the changing seasons and their family celebrations. We asked them a few questions about their favourite traditions, and their answers were too wonderful not to share.
What traditions do you have during Easter?
Every year my family goes to the church service on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We always decorate hard-boiled eggs with bright paints and have lunch with all my cousins.
The best tradition is the Easter egg hunt in our backyard. My parents hide the eggs in the trickiest spots, like inside the watering can or up in the trees. We have a race to see who can fill their basket first!
We usually go camping for the long weekend! We sit around the campfire and eat many marshmallows.
What is your favourite thing to eat during Easter?
Hot cross buns! My mum toasts them and puts butter on them.
Chocolate bunnies! I always eat the ears first. I also like the eggs with Smarties inside.
My mum makes a special roast lamb for dinner. She lets me help mash the potatoes.
Those big, thick chocolate eggs. I usually break the egg into pieces and use them like scoops for my dessert.
What do you like about autumn?
I love it when the leaves turn red and orange. My brother and I make a pile of crunchy leaves in the garden and jump into them until my dad gets annoyed because we made a mess!
It’s finally cooler outside! I like wearing my favourite hoodie again and not getting all sweaty as soon as I go out to play.
I like that it’s getting dark a bit earlier because it means I get to turn my fairy lights on in my room sooner. Plus, no more itchy mosquito bites!
I like the purple and pink sky in autumn. It’s also good weather for soccer because it’s nice and crisp.
The Heart of the Season
As we enjoy the beautiful autumn weather, the fun traditions, and the precious time spent with family, let us also remember the true heart of this season. Easter is a profound reminder of Jesus’ willing sacrifice on the cross and His glorious resurrection. Through His immense love for us, we see God’s perfect, overarching plan for the salvation of mankind fulfilled - offering us grace, hope, and eternal life. We pray that this incredible truth brings your family deep joy, peace, and rest over Easter and the holidays.
Wishing you all a safe and blessed Easter break!
