Community
In ACC Distance Education we plan events in the last week of each term where we can gather as a school community and students can enjoy meeting and spending time together. Similarly, parents and carers can also get to know one another. Our staff truly value the chance to be face to face with both students and families - and each other! We’re also living across the state.Â
This term’s event will be at Whiteman Park in Perth on the 1st of April. We would love to have as many as possible join us for the day. More information will be coming out shortly.Â
Learning
Years 7 and 9 students will be completing the NAPLAN assessments between the 11th - 17th March. Supervisors should have received necessary information.Â
We value the data captured in these assessments. Please reach out for support if that is needed throughout the process.Â
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,Â
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4
At ACC we have a deep respect for the Word of God. This is reflected in the priority of reading and studying the Bible as a core subject. I trust that each student has settled into a routine of completing the lessons and engaging with the content. Our Bible teachers love their role and love to share the impact the Word of God has in their lives.Â
As staff we have been reading through John 15, where there are verses that talk about ‘abiding’ in the Word. The impact is significant when we spend time reading and studying so that we can draw wisdom and guidance from the Bible. We’re prompted to understand the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, live by His example and offer support and kindness to others. We also have an extraordinary peace about the purpose of our lives as we ‘abide’ in the Word.Â
